After the first survey area has been loaded into MagPick, additional survey areas can be added. In order to avoid errors in map location it is important to use the same UTM parameters for all the survey areas loaded together. Load the first survey area using File->Profiles->Simple Load, and choose the Auto Short UTM drop down choice for Apply UTM on input (positions in LON/LAT): at the bottom of the Create profile description dialog box. Click the Save to file button on the UTM (Gauss – Kruger) transformation setup dialog. Don’t forget to check all the drop down lists in the Create profile description dialog box before you click the OK button. Load additional survey areas using File->Profiles->Simple Load, and choose the Manual UTM drop down choice for Apply UTM on input (positions in LON/LAT): at the bottom of the Create Profile description dialog box. Then click the UTM parameters button to open the UTM (Gauss – Kruger) transformation setup dialog, and click the Load from file button to load the previously saved UTM parameters.
