The OhmMapper training is typically a two or three-day course as follows:

Day 1

Day 1: Morning – Start with a hands-on demonstration of the set up and configuration of the OhmMapper.  This can be done on a nearby plot of land, parking lot, or other area where there is at least 50 meters of space available.   This will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.  The rest of the morning will be spent in a classroom setting with instruction on the theory, appropriate applications, use, depth of investigation, noise, and other issues related to OhmMapper resistivity surveys.

Day 1: Afternoon  field exercises– Collect several passes over a single profile line with multiple n spaces.  Learn about both Simple Survey and Mapped Survey modes.  Use GPS interface for data positioning.  Review troubleshoot techniques in relation to the OhmMapper field use.  The field site must be at least 150 meters in length and away from buried metal pipes, reinforced sewer or water lines, railroad tracks or metal fences.

Day 2:

Day 2: Morning – Download data collected on previous day.  Work with MagMap2000 for data download, editing, creation of 2-D pseudosections and 2-D planview maps of OhmMapper data.  Learn method for created 2-D export file for inversion in third-party resistivity inversion software (RES2DINV).

Day 2: Afternoon back to field site to collect multiple profiles for 3-D analysis.

Day 3: If required

Day 3 morning and afternoon – Class will perform its own survey with equipment set up, survey design, data collection, data downloading, editing in MagMap2000 software, and inversion in RES2DINV.  The instructor will be available to answer questions but the students will perform all survey and processing tasks.
