The standard Power/Data cable (P/N 30231-00 - Pro XR/XRS Data/Power Cable) supplied with the ProXR requires the ProXR to be connected to an application (like GPS Controller) that raises the CTS line to turn on the ProXR. As soon as you close GPS Controller application on your computer, the receiver switches off. The solution is to use the following cable in place of the standard Power/Data cable (P/N 30231-00 - Pro XR/XRS Data/Power Cable): Western States Cabling P/N 30231m Modified, Unattended Base Station Power Cable, will be required to operate the Pro XR/XRS with a G-858 or G-859 magnetometer. You can purchase this cable from: Western States Cabling Inc. U.S.A. 656 Confluence Avenue Murray, Utah 84123 Telephone: 801-281-1087 FAX 801-281-1970 Email: bdawson@wscable.com As soon as power is applied the receiver switches on - whether you are connected to an application or not. This would allow you to configure the receiver using GPS Controller to output NMEA. When you power, the ProXR will power on, outputting NMEA, which can then be received by the G-858 or G-859.
